It’s not long since Canon published their new low end camera the 500D now Nikon follows up with a D5000. The camera comes with 12mp, hd video, swivel lcd, 11 point autofocus, 4fps and the iso goes all the way up to 6400.

The new camera is placed somewhere between the D90 and the D60. When this camera hits the streets the D40 will more or less be faced out and the D60 will take over as the smallest Nikon.

Nikon has was again opted to make a low end camera without and autofocus motor. This means you have to be careful when you choose your next lens.

The new swivel screen is both good and bad in my eyes. The swivel function is a  nice addition and I can even live with it only being 2.7″ since it is swivel. But in today’s world a screen on a dslr should come with 920.000 dots. The new Nikon unfortunately takes a step back to the 230.000 dots.
