Photographer David Bergman was at the ceremony at the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, DC where Barack Obama became the 44th president of the USA. Over time he has covered everything from presidents, Olympics, super bowls and live 8, but he felt that this was such a big event it needed a very big photograph.

I used a Gigapan robotic arm and a Canon G10 to take all in all 220 images of the ceremony. These were stitched with the Gigapan software and out came a gigantic image spanning 59,783 X 24,658 pixels. This ads op to a staggering 1.474mp. This makes one huge tiff file at just about 2gb.
